Where is the fuel filter on a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited?

There are 2 filters.

1. One is on the end of the pickup tube inside of the gas tank.
2. The second is in-line, above the front edge of the gas tank, inboard of the frame member. It is part of the fuel regulator/filter assembly.

This second filter is the one you should remove and inspect. Probably unhealthy, but I generally blow through them to see if they're clogged (it's the best test I've found- if it's hard to blow through, or your ears pop, replace it!).

Oh, your new filter should have some simple instructions inside the box.

Its inside the fuel tank, mounted on top of the fuel pump. @$#%% Chrysler.
