Fuel level sensor is in the tank with the fuel.
To check the brake fluid level on a 99 Subaru Forester, you need to open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir. This is located on the master cylinder. There will either be a dipstick in the reservoir, or a line embossed on the side that says 'full.' If needed, add DOT 3 brake fluid.
It will sense the engine pre-detonating fuel(usual cause is fuel octane level to low). ECU will adjust timing to prevent damage to engine.
I want to check the level of atf temp in my subaru forester 2010. On checking the transmission fluid level, after the car was driven about 10 km and was put in each gear and setting the select level in the "p", do i have to turn off the engine or idle the engine before i check the atf level?
Changing an oxygen sensor is awkward, not necessarily difficult. The answer really depends on your skill level so without knowing that my answer is meaningless. Auto parts stores lend a socket set for changing oxygen sensors and they do help some. Good luck! --Ken
The oil level sensor for the engine is generally located in the oil pan.
Go to the auto parts store and get a manual for your Forester, like the Haynes. It has a full description of how to do the job. After reviewing the procedure, if you think that your skill level is up to the task, have at it. Otherwise, take it to a professional. --Ken

Make sure you are looking for the THE OIL LEVEL SENSOR and not the oil pressure switch. Oil level sensor should still be located on the oil Pan.
The oil level pressure sensor is located on the front of the engine. The oil pressure sensor is just above where the oil pan bolts to the engine.
The fuel level sensor is in the tank.
The fuel level sensor is located inside the fuel tank.
