Not usually, the four wheel drive is hooked up after the transmission. If you are having problems with your transfer case it will sound like the transmission because the transfer case is bolted to the back of the transmission. The four wheel drive operates independently from the transmission. If you have a bad transfer case that would cause locking in the drive line it could cause problems, but your vehicle is designed to use the four wheel drive and typical use of your four wheel drive won't cause damage to the transmission. It would be advisable to only use it as necessary because it will decrease your fuel economy by about 20%.

it means part-time four wheel drive. It will lock the differentials in the front and read of the four-wheel drive cars. Making them harder to turn in extreme turns. But allows equal power to all wheels, which is better for off-road conditions, or extreme weather conditions. Only have it in part time when needed, as it does use a little more fuel if you don't know how to drive with it properly. Always make sure before you switch to and from four wheel drive with the lever on the jeep liberty or any other four wheel drive. put the car in neutral, then turn on/off the 4-wheel drive hi or low, then go back into drive. Do not go faster than 60 mph on 4hi, and no faster than 25 on 4low. If you do not go into neutral before going into 4 wheel drive, you can strip the gears. You can do what I do and switch to and from wheel drive on the fly in the jeep liberty by "flicking" it to neutral, pop the 4 wheel drive lever, then "flick" the stick back into drive. Takes practice to get it right.

how do you replace the fuel injectors on a 1991 subaru legacy

1987 was major design change year for the Corolla, and the fuel pump if you have a rear wheel drive with a 1.3 or 1.6Liter engine it has a mechanical fuel pump on the engine block, but in May 1987 Corolla went to front wheel drive and some Corollas, depending on the Trim, got the new 1ZZ FE 1.8Liter (same engine used in Corollas until 2012) multi port fuel injection engine and has a electric fuel pump inside the gas tank. If you had asked "where is the fuel pump on a "1986" or "1988" the answer is easy, but the 5th generation manufactured before May 1987 has the mechanical fuel pump. That is the same year Toyota Corolla went to Front wheel drive. The best way to tell is if your car is Rear wheel drive and a carburetor it has a mechanical fuel pump, and if it is Front wheel drive and Fuel injection it has an electric fuel pump inside the gas tank.

According to fuel economy . gov ( no spaces ) Depending on whether it's two wheel drive or four wheel drive , automatic or manual transmission City is 14 to 16 / highway is 18 to 22 mpg for the U.S. gallon

It's more a question of being different than better. Two wheel driveA two wheel drive car needs fewer moving parts, so it'll be lighter, less expensive and use less fuel. OTOH it'll have less traction, as it's only two wheels pushing.Four wheel driveA four wheel drive car needs more moving parts, so it'll be heavier, cost more, and use more fuel, OTOH with all wheels pushing it'll have better traction. Now, what's better will depend on how you plan to use it.If you're staying on decent roads, not carrying or towing anything, then 4WD will cost you a fair bit, w/o doing you much good.If you're regularly driving on dirt/gravel roads, maybe in the snow, maybe even off-road, then 4WD can be real helpful and possibly worth the extra cost.
