there is no fluid, they have electric power steering.
It doesn't. Saturn Ions don't use a hydraulic power steering system. They instead use an electric power steering system which uses a small electric motor to provide steering assistance. If you are having trouble with the power steering, take it to any GM dealer to have it serviced.
There probably is no power steering fluid in the 05 Saturn. Saturn employs an electric assisted power steering system that still has a rack and pinion, but is electrically operated. A much easier, more bulletproof design in my opinion.
There isn't one, it's electric.
The power strg unit is in the column yes....It is electric power strg. The steering rack remains the same
You don't. Saturn Ions don't use a hydraulic power steering system. They use an electric power steering system using a small electric motor to provide steering assistance. If you have any problems with the power steering, take it to a GM dealer. GM had many problems with it, so they extended the power steering warranty on all Saturn Ions, Chevy Cobalts, Chevy HHRs and Pontiac G5s to 10 years or 100,000 miles.
there is no power steering fliud because your power steering is electric steering.there is no fluids nor is there a pump...all electrical
There is no pump to replace. Saturn Ions do not use conventional hydraulic power steering. They use a electric power steering system that uses a small electric motor to provide steering assistance. They are known for problems. If you are having problems with yours, bring it to any GM dealer and they should fix it. GM extended the warranty on the power steering of all Saturn Ions, Chevy Cobalts, Chevy HHRs and Pontiac G5s to 10 years or 100,000 miles.
You don't. Saturn Ion's don't have a normal hydraulic power steering system. There is no need for power steering fluid period. Saturn Ions instead use an electric power steering system which uses a small electric motor to provide steering assistance. An electric power steering system takes stress off the engine, resulting in better fuel economy and better performance. If you are having issues with the power steering, take it to any GM dealer (Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC) and they'll be able to fix it. GM was known for having problems with the electric power steering on these cars (and Chevy Cobalt's, HHR's, Malibu's, and Pontiac G5's as well). As a result, GM extended the warranty on the power steering systems for these cars to 10 years or 100,000 miles.
There is no fluid on the 2004. They operate on electric power steering. you need to replace the two fuses on top of the battery that control your power steering. your owners manual will show you which ones are the right ones.
Your Vue has electric steering therefore there is no pump. If you have no power strg you have an electrical problem........with the power steering unit or wiring to it. Troubles codes can be read for the steering to help in diagnostics
There isn't any. The power steering system is entirely electric. If you peek under the dash on the driver's side to the left of the steering column you'll see a rather large electric motor that does your power steering. Problems with the power steering system will light the Malfunction Indicator Light that's shaped like a car and has a wrench on it.
The Vue doesn't use power steering fluid. The power steering system is entirely electric and requires no maintenance. If there is a problem with the power steering system, the Malfunction Indicator Light with the icon of a car and a wrench will light.
The fuse that controls the cigarette lighter on a 2004 Saturn Ion is a 20 Amp. fuse located in the bottom right corner of the fuse box. The fuse box is located just to the left of the steering wheel in the dashboard under the instrument panel.
It is and electric assist system not a hydraulic system like on a normal vehicle. there is no fluid to check
If it is a whining noise, the vehicle is low on steering fluid or the power steering pump may be going bad. If it is a clicking noise, the CV joints may be going bad. NOPE a Saturn vue has electric power steering and no pawer steering pumpA Saturn vue has 4 stabilizer links and they are made of plastic Moog makes metal replacements for the front but the rear still come from the dealer and are plastic they wear out and make noise when you turn replace them and the noise should go away
Its to adjust the angle of the steering wheel
To replace the power steering rack on a Saturn Ion, You must first dissmantle the current steering rack by accessing the main hood, and from there you can screw the new steering rack into place
I have a 2006 Ion - the power steering went out. My dealer said that this was a common problem - Saturn was working on a recall. They took care of replacing the steering column - no charge.
2004 Saturn what?? if it has electric power steering its and ion or vue, its under the hood in the fuse block on the drivers side, depending on the car, its a mini fuse or a j-case fuse, did you blow it when jump starting??
No it will not.
That depends on what you're calling the "control module". There is a switch that controls where the wiper blades "park". It's inside the wiper motor assembly. In fact, most of the controls, except the switch on the steering column, are inside the wiper motor.
the dealership told me that it is due to the steering column needing to be lubricated
Generally, any power steering fluid type works in a 2002 Saturn. This is as long as it meets the specifications of GM Spec 9985010.
The ATF power steering fluid is usually used for the Saturn SL 1. The Mobil 1 automatic transmission fluid can also be used.
