Where is the fuse box for a 1997 suzuki intruder 800?
I have a 97 intruder that has had a lot of customization and been chopped up so I´m not sure if where mine is located is stock but on the left side you remove the side tin. Under that your fuse box is a block box that on one corner has kinda a triangle looking appearance. it is marked right in the middle fuse box. I have a stock 98 intruder and the fuse box is in the same place, under the tin directly above the kick stand.
The tool kit on my 2001 Suzuki 800 Intruder is located behind the backrest cushion, its a hard plastic compartment behind the cushion .... gently pry or pull off the backrest. The cushion it pulls straight off towards the front. It has a keyed lock, remove cover revealing a pouch of tools. Hope this helps
The timing chain on an Intruder 800 should adjust itself. If this isn't happening, I think you MAY be able to access the adjuster by taking the valve/rocker cover off and seeing if the tensioner is up to full stretch or is not working. If it won't adjust any further and take anymore play out of the chain, it's possible that your chain has stretched over time and needs replacing.
To change the battery on a Suzuki 800 Intruder remove both the positive and the negative cables from the top of the battery. The batttery and battery box is located low, between the rear wheel, and the frame. You will need to open the bottom of the black battery box by removing two small bolts ,one on each side.Hold the bottom of the battery box as it swings downward when the second bolt is removed…
Remove the gas line, and plug open end. Insure the gas valve cock is "OFF". Remove the saddle. This is accomplished by removing the side body parts. After removing screws they will just pull off. Remove the one machine screw at the rear base of the tank. pull the tank back and slightly upward, and it will be free in your hands.
