It should be located inside the engine compartment on the passenger side about halfway back. Look for a cylinder shaped object on the outer wall of the compartment. It has 1 inlet tube and 1 outlet tube.

Look under the dash between the steering wheel and the door.
the starter is located underneath in front of your oil pan its a round cylinder

i use 89 oct
on the gas line between the gas tank and carb but it might not have one
There is very little chance this will work.I believe the Tempo is much closer in design to the Escort series than the larger Taurus/Sable.Personally, I wouldn't pursue this particular effort. Find one from a Tempo/Topaz.

Well, if it is a 4 cyl, you can see it right at the front of the car. Look down between the engine and the rad.

According to my Chilton's Auto Repair manual : A 1989 Ford Probe gas tank holds ( 15.1 U.S. gallons )
The '89 SHO takes 5 quarts of oil if you're doing a filter change too.
If they have not changed from the '89, then take off the glove box door. Its there. Just remove all the small screws then pull it out.
My 1989 festiva owner manual states: 3.9 quarts with a filter change.

other than getting a bit of either water and or slug in your injectors it should be nothing should happen... get a carb/fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank fill up the tank with gas 89 octane or better and drive. I also put GAS antifreeze in at about half a tank and run it almost empty to clean my tank out before and after the winter which is when water can best get into your gas tank.
Location of starter on 89 ford f150
under the car in front of the back wheel, drivers side, next to gas tank.
I used to have that problem with my VW67 and is the carburetor pump, should be the same in ur Ford, just buy a Carburato Kit, and replace the lil pump inside the Carburator... AN 1989 Ford is probably fuel injected. You need to have fuel pressure checked.
