I had one of these when I lived in Wyoming. A freeze plug in your engine block is replaced with a heater plug that keeps the block warm so your fluids don't freeze. There is what looks like an extension cord you use to plug the block heater into an outlet. I had a 25 foot cord I ran from my bedroom window to the plug hanging under my truck parked outside my apartment.
plug a block heater plug into any household 120 electrical outlet just like plugging in a heater in your house
If equipped, it is on the passenger side. It starts behind the oil filter. It was an add on option when the truck was built.
Yes they do. Some do not have the plug on the front but the heater is in the block. If you plan on using this heater, you will need to buy a heater cord from your dealer and connect it. It's real simple! You just remove a cap from the side of the block on the passenger side and then connect you cord to it and fish the plug in end of your cord tothe front of the truck for easy connecting.
There should be a plug on the front of the motor that comes out between the grill and the bumper. If it has never been used, it may still be taped behind the bumper. This is if the truck is equipped with a block heater, which i don't believe the older ones (80's) were equipped with stock.
The 1995 Cadillac block heater plug can be found on the right hand side of the engine. The block heater plug will be near the back of the engine.
Are you are asking about the plug to plug it in? Standing in front of the truck with the drivers seat on your right side look inside the tow hook bracket area of the front bumper, on the driver side of the truck. You will find the plug to plug in an extension cord to your block heater. It may be tucked into the opening a little bit. Just look around and find it. You will be able to pull it out about three or four inches, giving you enough length to plug in an extension cord. It is most important that you use an outside cord sufficient in size.
