How painful is a tongue piercing?

The initial piercing is not painful. The only thing felt is the pressure of needle. The clamp on the tongue hurts more than the actual piercing. The healing after is the painful part. The tongue will swell, and the muscle will be sore. As the tongue adjust to the metal and heals itself from the initial tear and swelling, the pain will subside, generally over a few days following the piercing. By experience, a piercing in the upper cartilage hurts more than a piercing in the tongue.

Is the helix piercing painful?

I don't have one but I have friends who do. They have other piercings as well and their helix piercings are the most painful for them. But some of them say that the actual piercing isn't as painful as the swelling afterwards. Any cartilage piercing just takes longer to heal and stays cranky for a while. I have my tragus pierced and it really wasnt that bad.

How painful is a collarbone piercing?

During the healing process of your navel piercing can you lay out in the sun?

It is recommended that you wait at least a few weeks but you can. Indoor tanning you would have to wait longer. Just be careful is you are putting SPF or lotion on. If it gets into the piercing it could get infected and that is VERY painful.

What piercing hurts more- tragus or rook?

The tragus piercing has a smaller cartillage when pierced while the rook piercing has a bigger cartilage. So rook has to be the much more painful type of ear piercing.

Which piercing is the most painful?

Ultimately the most painful piercing is any piercing done by an amateur. In the hands of a professional body piercer, even piercings that you would consider painful are not so bad. A lot of it has to do with your mind set and who is doing the actual piercing. If you have your mind made up about your piercing that helps, next it's the person doing the piercing, if they are good the piercing should be smooth and simple. Now for locations that would be considered painful. Exotics (any piercing below the waist line) in the hands of a professional are not bad, we have out tricks to make the whole experience a lot easier. This also applied to nipples, understanding the area and it's structure allows us to pierce it without the "you tube" drama you see in some videos. Do your research and find a piercer who is really experienced (better than 5 years actually piercing). Experience doesn't mean they have a whole bunch or piercings, I know people who are covered in piercings and they still can't pierce, training and continued studying is the key. Mind over matter, if you don't mind the discomfort, the actual piercing won't matter. Happy Piercings!
