Ha. good luck with this job. It is NOT fun. Ive done it myself. You have to pull off that black plastic piece that goes across bottom of windshield and at the back of hood. The motor is back in the corner, on the driver side of car. Its not easy to do. Be prepared for a long job, probably some cut hands. You`ll have to have fairly small hands to really get a hold of this job.
If the windshield wipers are not working in a 1998 Ford F150, the cause could be a blown fuse. There could also be a problem with the vacuum hoses connected to the wiper motor or the wiper motor itself.
A bad fuse may be the cause of windshield wipers not working on a 1998 Lumina. The switch that activates the wiper motor is another possible cause for the wipers not working.
NO, IF YOUR CAR STARTS, IT'S NOT THE MOTOR. MAYBE TRY THE FUSE.
There are several things that can cause your windshield wipers not to work. The most common cause is a malfunctioning windshield wiper motor.
It's located right on the windshield reservoir...
the fuse box in under the hood on the drivers side up close to the windshield
replace the pulse board on wiper motor which is a black cover
Your wiper arms that run from the wiper motor to the windshield wipers may be binding and need to be replaced
Did you try moving the wipers arms a notch or two so when they start they are not at the bottom of the windshield but rather an inch or so above the bottom edge of the windshield to make them sweep farther to the outside?
There is no "reset" in the wiper motor. If your wipers do not park, it is likely your wiper motor parking contact or cam is broken. Try running the wipers with the key in the "ON" position, then turn the wipers off using their switch while they are up on the windshield. They should park themselves at the bottom. The good news is a wiper motor is pretty cheap at a junkyard, and not too hard to replace.
I had the same thing on my 2000 Crown Vic PI and it was the motor.
It is located right on the windshield washer reservoir. It looks like a short black cylinder.
I have the same exact problem , i have a 1998 tiburon and the wipers are not moving.. i think it might be the wiper motor, I will buy one and see if that's the issue
The wiper motor for a 1998 Honda Civic is located on the firewall, underneath the vent cover, below the wipers.
check the fuse, otherwise the linkeage or the motor broke down
At bottom of washer fluid tank.
The fuse would be under the dash near the left kick panel. If you have the owners manual, it will show which slot is designated for the wipers.
The fuse for a 1998 F250 is in the fuse panel that is located under the hood of the vehicle. There are may different fuses for the vehicle that are located in this fuse panel.
Under the hood, on the firewall, drivers side.
I recently had a simliar problem on my 1998 Aurora. I switched out the motor and still no go....ummm. I checked the fuse and it was blown. I recall starting the wipers when it was covered in ice and that's when the problem started. Also check out the site below it's totally dedicated to Auroras http://aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi
I have a 96 blazer and the fuses are located behind a panel just inside the drivers side door on the end of the dash..
I don't know if there is one. If the wipers aren't working, you might have a problem with the multifunction switch, or the wiper motor may be gone.
