you neutral saftey switch auto trans/ is mounted on top of transmission under brake master cyl and brake booster area it attaches to the shift input rod have someone shift cars shifter back and forth toy will see cables moving a lever on trans under cablesswitch is mounter with a few 10 mm screws and has a smaal wire harness follow wire to plug and that is where you disconnect it always pull negative batttery cable for your safty and chock wheels and e brake it

the heater core is behind the dash board
It is probably the dimmer switch. The contacts in the switch will get pushed back and when you switch to dims they will not touch. Had the same problem on my 91 Nissan.
sounds like you are talking about the y pipe
its mounted on the firewall behind the engine. follow the fuel lines.
