behind the rear bumper, next to the spare tire.. I found it in on the engine(side toward the front of the car) under the manifold. Do not try to remove it when it is hot! ~ OK i just got through changing the oil on my 07 HH. You have to remove a plastic guard located underneath the front of the engine. Not too big of a deal, about 8 10mm bolts and 2 removable plastic clips. The filter is not too hard to get to (compared to oh, say - a Mazda Miata), but you'll need a filter wrench. They put a little drain funnel underneath the filter that help direct the oil dripping from the filter after you remove it. Nice touch, but then why put in that dang plastic guard that you have to remove? You'll also need a funnel to get the oil into the filler port. Whole job took me about an hour the first time; it'll be much faster next time. I did manage to discover that my dealer ripped me off on the last (and first one for this new vehicle) oil change. None of the bolts on the plastic shield had been removed - ever. They obviously didn't replace the filter - probably b/c its a bit of a PITA to do so. All the more reason to change the oil yourself. Now if i can just figure out how to reset the computer to register the oil change.
Access to it is located behind the glove box.
The oil filter is located at the front of the engine. It is hidden below the exhaust manifold. If you can stuck your hand from the top, then you can feel the oil filter located under the exhaust manifold. You can reach the oil filter from front under the exhaust manifold cover or you can access it from below by removing the plastic cover panel underside.
It's in the fuel tank as part of the fuel filter.
Right side toward front of engine will see a 3/8 square drive .It is a element.
They do not tell you in the manual how to change the filter. They want you to take it to a dealer

the cabin filter is located behind the glove box, just squeeze one side at a time the side of open glove box and pull down.
It is located in its own black plastic box held together by 4 spring tension clips. You can see this on the top front of the engine. It also has an air flow tube coming out of the box that is connected to the top of the radiator. Release the clips and gently but firmly pull the cover back to allow removal of the filter. NOTE the position of the filter element for proper air flow during replacement.

5 Quarts (4.8 without filter)
There is no seperate fuel filter. It is located inside the fuel tank and is an integral part of the fuel pump so you would need to drop the fuel tank and change out the entire pump. NOT cheap!
No. 2008 highlander has a aluminum filter housing you need to remove with a special type of filter wrench. I was able to tap mine loose without a wrench but it could be at 24n-m tight which is difficult to loosen.
Yes. It is a rectangular like type of plastic piece that snap into the compartment that houses the filter. Such compartment is located behind the Glove Compartment. You can reach the Cabin Air Filter by Pulling out the Glove compartment door.
