Where is the oil pressure switch located in 1997 blazer?
The oil pressure switch on a 1997 Chevy Blazer is located on the bottom of the engine, near the oil filter. It monitors the output and pressure of the oil pump.
The 1997 Blazer came with a 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission. This transmission is electronically controlled, which is particularly good to know when dealing with the 1997 year model. The 1997 Blazers are known to develop faulty connections in the electrical ignition switch that can interrupt the power to the transmission. When this occurs, it makes it seem as though the transmission has gone bad, when in fact the ignition switch is the real culprit.
when you turn on the key and get no dash lights example check engine or seatbelts. vehicle will still turn over but not fire up. but the dash lights are the key if they come on when you turn the switch and you hear the fuel pump pressure up then the switch is fine. would need to know more of the problem to be sure but this is a good start.
