right where the oil filter is, its that wire that gives you trouble when you try to replace the filter.
under the hood
It is in the oil Pan. You will have to drop the oil pan to change it.
Yes. www.autozone.com component location. NEXT TO THE OIL FILTER.
Attached to the underside of the motor, accessed by removing the oil pan.
Faulty sending unit.
Right next to the oil filter, it kinda gets in your way when you are replacing the filter.
Remove oil sending unit and replace with a mechanical gauge to check oil pressure
Above the oil filter, where it screws on. You'll need a special socket to remove/install a new one.
The oil pressure sending unit could be bad. Or the oil pressure gauge could be bad, but normally gauges don't fail............I would have someone check out the oil pressure sending unit.
very simple.... its mounted on the oil filter assembly. just un-screw and replace with the new one.
If you have the 4.2, it is on the passenger side of the engine near where the dipstick enters the block, forward of the starter.
Its not the oil sensor sending unit. More than likely its a bad connection at the temperature sending unit. I have a 95 wrangler that was reading 260 degrees. I had a couple bare wires touching at the temp sending unit. Fixed the wires and all better now. Otherwise its probably the gauge itself.
