might be by the oil filter or on the engine block. i think ive changed one out before on a 350 motor and it was on the back side of the engine by the distributor and where the transmission case meets the engine block. should have only one wire running to it and if you unplug it the gauge on the dash will read zero. Behind the air cleaner housing and about 3 inches down.
Yes, it's in the fuel tank.
if it is an 350 eng it is located at the rear of the intake manifold,on the top of the block, next to the dist.
Need to know engine size.
on mine, I had to drop the gas tank.
Bad temperature sending unit? Bad gauge?
It is right behind the distributor and screewed into the top of the engine block.
It is inside of the fuel tank and can be removed from the top of the tank.
It is inside of the fuel tank attached to the fuel pump sending unit.
If you tell me the engine size, Then I'll tell you were it is.
The Oil Sending Unit on a 1988, 89, and 90 model Silverado is behind the driver side manifold. It is right above the oil filter. It is a canister that is bolted to a piece of tubing that leads to the motor.
It is in the drivers side head by the front spark plug,
In back of the engine, on top, drivers side, next to the distributor.
It is screewed into the top of the engine right behind the distributor. It is very hard to get to.
A tan/white wire goes from the sending unit to the fuel gauge typically on a (example) 1985 Chevrolet Silverado 305 tbi.
air intake temperature sending uniti bought a chip for my 1999 Chevy silverado z71. i was wondering where the intake air temperature sending unit is does anyone have a pic or can help me out. thanks.
Mounted next to the oil filter.
Where is the oil sending unit at for a 2005 chevy monte carlo
Which sending unit? Oil or temperature? Or ?????
The oil pressure sending unit on my 1997 silverado is on the top of the engine behind the intake manifold. It took a while to find it.I had to climb on top of the engine and look down to the block up near the firewall I was having eratic oil pressure readings and the sending unit was the problem.
The fuel gauge on a 1985 Chevy Silverado will read full all the time if the sending unit is defective or the wire has come loose. When the tank is full, the sending unit normally shuts off which cause the gauge to read full.
what would cause a oil pressure gauge to fluctuate on my 99 Chevy truck silverado i change the sending unit it does it mostly after it warmed up
It will be right behind the Distributor, and screewed into the top of the engine block. It will have a electric wire pluged into it.
The fuel sending unit is in the gas tank. You can either rais the truck bed up and remove it from the tank, or drop the fuel tank out from under the truck and service it.Your call, but you will have to do one are the other.
