Looking over the passenger side fender the Power Steering pump on a 1984 to 1986 Chevy Celebrity is on the left side of the engine. On the 2.8L V6 it is below the level of the exhaust manifold near the bottom of the block. It is a bit of a pain to get to.
On the 2.5L 4 cylinder engine it is on an arm off of the front of the engine below the level of the intake manifold.
The power steering lines run between the power steering pump and the rack and pinion.
The fuse box is on the bottom of the dash on the right side of the steering column.
The firing order on a 1986 Chevrolet Celebrity V6 is: 1-2-3-4-5-6.
Open the hood. On the left where the belts are, there will be a black box with a round cap....the belt will run on a pulley attached to that black box. There will also be a black rubber hose and also a steel hose attached to it...that's the power steering pump. The oil goes in where the round cap is.
It depends slightly on which of the components you are asking about, that is the pump, the rack and pinion or what ever. Please ask again being more specific about the exact bolts you are having trouble loosening or explain what you are trying to change or remove.
There are two different steering wheels available for a 1986 Chevy Celebrity. One was the standard steering wheel, the other came on Eurosprt models. They are quite different so I need to know which one you have to answer your question.
what type of engine do you have?? V6
You can refill your 1986 Toyota Corolla power steering fluid through the power steering reservoir. The power steering reservoir will be on the left-hand side of the engine.
On the 2.8L V6 the distributor cap is held on with two screws. Unscrew the two screws and pull straight up on the distributor cap to remove it from the distributor.
I found one source that says a 1986 Chevy Celebrity has a curb weight of 2714 pounds. Different options would change that weight.
