The fan sensor you are refering to is called the coolant temp sensor and it is located on the engine block by the water neck on the driver side front of the motor there are 2 sensors one above the other the upper has a connector and costs around 17.99 the lower is the temp gauge. this is for the 2.2 4 cylinder engine
Apply 12 volts directly to the fan. If it runs OK it is good.
Passenger side firewall
It is on the intake manifold near the thermostat housing.
In my '96 beretta the cooling fan relay switch is located on the drivers side strut tower. That may not be the problem. If your fan still won't work after changing the relay switch try the coolant temperature switch/sensor.
Underneath the dash by glove top of panel
the thermostat could be stuck closed or the radiator fan is not working. check the fuse or the temp sensor, but be careul because the 94 have 2 sensors. 1 for the fan and 1 for the temp gauge.
It will be mounted up near the battery on the driver side inner fender.
its not a fun job by any means i did the job with my dad a few months ago. the radiatior is actuaaly in between the bumper and the fan youll have to drop it out from the botom its something like a 4 -6 hour job.
Remove your lower passenger side engine mount and you will be able to rock the engine back far enough for the fan to clear the manifold.
No. The radiator fan is controlled by a combination of 3 things. 1. The coolant temperature sensor in the block, near the thermostat housing. 2. The cooling fan relay, on the upper passenger side firewall. and 3. The cooling fan motor itself.
Before you go out and buy a thermostat. Try this start the car with the radiatior cap off and let it run for 5 or ten minuets. If this works then it was air locked. Also check to see if the cooling fan(s) operate when the engine is hot. If not it could be a faulty cooling fan motor, cooling fan relay or cooling fan temp sensor.
First remove the fan troul(if on car), then the body shaft directly behind but still attached I think is a 7/8 crescent wrench will turn counter clockwise. The fan will then come apart from the water pump and you will figure it out from there if not theres something wrong.
