Not all radiators have petcocks. Simply disconnect the bottom hose to drain.
Virtually all automobiles have a drain plus (petcock) on the bottom of the radiator for the purpose of draining coolant. Your car should have that on the inside of the radiator, on the botom, on the driver side of the car.

Remove the plastic cover underneath the radiator(passenger side) to access the radiator drain and you will need a large screwdriver.

Just below the radiator lower hose is the petcock. Unscrew it partially and it will drain. It has a "T" type handle that does not require any special tool. Be sure and save as much antifreeze as you can. If you do not reuse it then take it to a repair shop or AutoZone so that it will be disposed of properly.
To drain the radiator in a 2001 Focus, loosen the cap on the top of the radiator overflow tank. Then loosen the lowest radiator hose on the radiator. Drain the antifreeze into a bucket to prevent ground pollution. Be careful, if the engine was recently running. The liquid will be hot.
Remove the lower radiator hose or loosen the radiator drain.
If it is not on the bottom of the radiator, then just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the system.
