Same answer as the 97 escort question.
The 4.3 temp sending unit for the gauge is located in the drivers side head between spark plugs 3 & 5.
Be sure you are replacing the temp sending unit for a gauge application. The parts counter person may have given you one for an idiot light.

One sensor would be for your engine temperature gauge and the other sensor for the OBD II engine management system
The 1998 Ford Fiesta 1.3 liter engine temperature sending unit can be found on the front of the engine. The temperature sending unit will be near the thermostat housing.

Inside the fuel tank with the sending unit for the fuel gauge
There are 2 and they are located on the intake manifold near the thermostat. The 1 with the single wire is for the gauge. The 2 wire is for the cooling fans and the computor. jd
temperature gauge not working can be caused by a bad temp sensor in engine, a bad gauge in dash, or a bad fuse
The temperature sensing unit is located on the water outlet. The water outlet is the housing that contains the thermostat and 2 engine temperature sensors. The sending unit for the fan is the first sensor closest to the front of the car. The sensor towards the rear of the housing operates the engine temperature gauge. It has only 1 small connector wheras the sendiing unit for the fan has a larger connector with 2 wires instead of 1.
On a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 there will be an " ABS " warning light under the engine temperature gauge . When you turn the ignition key to the run position , just before starting the vehicle , the light should come on for a few seconds to prove that the bulb works ( I don't know if ABS was a standard feature on the ZX2 model )
It's not fused separately. If your fuel gauge isn't working, you either have faulty wiring to the gauge, or a faulty fuel sending unit.
210 to 220 is a safe range.
Sounds like (& usually is) bad sending unit in tank.
We are going to need to know what engine it has.

Bad fuel sending unit in tank however it is part of the fuel pump assembly
There is no reset button for the fuel gauge. Something is either wrong with the gauge or the sending unit in the tank.
The temperature sender for the coolant is located in the water outlet. The upper radiator hose goes to the water outlet. The sensor with 2 wires goes to the gauge and the sensor with 3 wires goes to the computer.
either the guage is malfunctioning or the fuel pump sending unit is stuck.
