i think its on the back of the transfer case

Nope, the motor on the back of the transfer case shifts the cheicle from 2wd to 4wd high and 4wd low. The speed sensors are located in the brake calipers on each wheel.

The speed sensor for the front are located in the calipers but the rear is located in the differential housing.
