The answer below is essentially correct...in relation to a BOSCH starter...If you have a Denso (Nippondenso) starter...the solenoid IS rebuildabe...you can get the part from checker auto..part no ND34SOL, made by Victory Lap...about $17..search the web for photo instructions, and the kit comes with instructions as well.

It will be a small cylender attached to your starter. On a 3.3 v6 the solenoid is not rebuildable the starter and solenoid are one unit,average price for a rebuilt is about $90.00,the replacement starter picture shows two side bolts and the top one is a non threaded pin that locates in the top bolt hole of the engine,disconnect the battery first before disconnecting the single lead of the starter.Your problem may be a corroded connection and not the starter,but if you hear a click when you start that's the high current contact in the selonoid and you will have to replace the starter. *Note: Before going through the trouble of crawling under the car to change the starter, try swapping the relay with one of the same part number (like the horn relay) and see if it is bad. This might save you a lot of headache.
