The temperature sender for the instrument cluster gauge is between spark plugs #5 and #7 on the passenger side cylinder head. The temperature sender for the ECM is in the front of the intake manifold, beneath the throttle body.

I believe it is on the front of the intake manifold and it should be the second largest one. I believe the largest is the air charge temp sensor

On my 1989 460, the ECT is located on top of the engine near the temperature sending unit. The ECT is aproimately 3 inches to the left of the temperature sending unit and set back 1 inch.
Mine runs 190 to 220 degrees. The manual says that is within the specs.
