Where is the temperature sensor unit in a 4 cylinder 5 speed 1988 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 liter engine?
I believe on that model there are two...one in the therm housing and one in the intake.
The Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor for the 2.3L engine is located between the two center ignition coils. The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor for the 3.0L engine is located in the intake manifold to the right of the thermostat housing. The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor for the 4.0L engine is located in the intake manifold behind the thermostat housing.
According to Haynes Manual, 2001 and later 2.3L Ford Ranger, the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor replaces the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor on earlier models. The CHT sensor is located between the #2 and #3 spark plugs in the cylinder head and can be accessed through the valve cover. Carefully pull back the CHT cover to expose the electrical connector then disconnect it from the CHT sensor. Unscrew the CHT sensor and remove it…
Code P1299: Cylinder Head Over Temperature Protection Active Indicates an engine overheat condition was detected by the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor. An FMEM Strategy called Fail-safe Cooling was activated to cool the engine. Engine cooling system concerns Low engine coolant level Base engine concerns
Where is the coolant temperature sending unit on a 1999 Ford E150 6 cylinder and is there more than one?
Does a cylinder head temperature sensor in a ford focus control the fan or does the coolant temperature sensor control it?
Where is the coolant temperature sensor tw located on a 1988 Honda Accord 4-cylinder fuel injected with a manual trans located?
This sensor is located on the front of the engine. I've had to replace this one before. It's a pain to get to because in order to access the sensor, you have to perform the same steps as you would to change the timing belt. If you look at the front of the engine, just under and to the vehicle's right of the distributor, you should see a wire leading to the sensor. You may…
On a 1986 Chevy Celebrity V6 the sensor that operates the gauge or temp light is on the head by the firewall at the rear of the engine. There is another temperature sensor on the water outlet. There is another temperature sensor that controls the cold start injector it is on the intake manifold next to the fuel rail. Fuel injected models only.
