1. Make sure the engine is cool. 2. ***Make sure you actually replace the thermostat, driving without one will cause serious engine problems and computer problems*** 3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 4. Drain radiiator. 5. Disconnect the upper radiator hose (You may have to remove the alternator support bracket) from the thermostat cover. 6. Remove the bolts from the thermostat and lift cover off. 7. ***Observe how the thermostat is installed, then remove the old one and replace with a new thermostat. 8. It may be necessary to scrape the old gasket material off, do so, and replace with a new gasket. 9. Apply a little gasket sealent to ensure a secure seal on both sides of the new gasket. 10. Installation is reverse order.

on the water pump. follow the top hose from your radiator. it attaches to the block at the thermostat housing.
Drain the radiator. disconnect the top radiator hose from the engine. Remove the water inlet that the hose was hooked to. The thermostat is in the housing. Replace the gasket when replacing the thermostat.

The Haynes manual I have says the thermostat housing is located between the lower radiator hose and the block on the left front side of the engine. The thermostat and housing are all one piece. The lower radiator hose (return) connects to the thermostat housing. follow the out hose for the rad until it enter the block it shouldn't be hard to find.
