Drain the coolant (cold engine!!!) Get under the car and follow the lower radiator to the metal adapter. Use a 10mm wrench to remove the two bolts holding the adapter in place, pull it out and expose the thermostat. When you replace it be sure to fit a new o-ring. Use a German WAHL or equivalent, the stants don't fit properly.
