I just did the thermostat on my '94 SE-V6, and the thermostat is where the lower radiator hose contacts the block (on most cars and trucks they seem to be on the upper hose). You have to do a little bit of digging to get to it: i.e. taking off the pulley bracket and a few wires, the fan shroud, and most likely the upper radiator hose as well. It kindof sucks. Good luck.
On my 95 pickup with 4 cylinder engine, the thermostat is located where the lower radiator hose enters the engine block. Hope this helps.
I think you have to follow the lower radiator hose to the engine block.

should be top of the engine in front where the top hose from the radiator connects.
it is located where the top radiator hose enters the motor, inside the bolt on metal housing that the hose clamps to.
A 180 and a 170 degree thermostat are listed for it.
Where is the thermostat
on the rear of the transmission it has a single bolt holding it in, and usually has a + symbol on it.
In order to fix a stuck thermostat in a 1994 Ford truck, one should take the truck to a certified Ford mechanic to complete the work.
