On my Dad's 1992 XLT Ranger I just followed the upper radiator hose to the enginge. It is the 2.3 Liter. It is on the front of the engine. My 1978 Chevy 350 it is also found by following the upper to the top of the block. Start there or cheat & go to parts store when buying the new one & ask. Sometimes they will help out. In the Haynes Ford Ranger repair manual, it gives two locations, both located by following the upper radiator hose as noted above. On the 4 cylinder engine, it's located on the front of the engine block. On the 6 cylinder engine, it's located near the front of the intake manifold.
Should be less than/around $10.00.
My Ford Ranger is a 1998 4.0 ltr V6.
is in side of the rear main fiuse box
There is supposed to be an engine thermostat . Do you mean that someone has removed the engine thermostat ? What year of Ford Ranger and what year ?
follow the top radiator hose to the engine, the thermostat is located in the housing that that end of the hose is connected to
Follow the top radiator hose from the radiator , it connects to a metal pipe which is part of the thermostat housing that is bolted to the front of the engine The thermostat is inside the thermostat housing
follow the top radiator hose to the engine, remove it then remove the thermostat housing, remove the thermostat and replace it
follow the top radiator hose to the motor the hose is clamped to the thermostat housing remove the housing and you will find your thermostat
Follow the upper radiator hose to the outlet/sensor housing then to the head. Remove the 2 bolts on holding the housing to access it.
