Try 87 Octane if it does not "ping" excessively you are OK If it does "ping" go to 89 Octane
Remove the water supply hose from the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. The old thermostat will lift out. Drop in the new thermostat in reverse the process.

Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to where it is attached on the motor. It is attached to the thermostat housing wich is held on by two bolts. The thermostat is under this housing.
