On the 3.1 v6 it is located on the side of the throttle body. It is visible from the rear of the engine compartment, and is a small, round, black plastic piece. It uses torque screw heads so you will need a set of of those screwdrivers, or a simple universal interchangeable head screwdriver. A general symptom that indicates it needs replacing is a revving engine or high idle, especially upon startup, but sometimes a "take off" on the freeway, requiring freeway braking is also possible.
