It should be around or close to the 02 sensor. Check for a part dangling by a wiring and connector.
Check the fuses for the trailer wiring.
In your fuse panel on the drivers end of the dash ( cover is visible with drivers door open ) the # 7 fuse is a 7.5 amp mini-fuse for the left stop / turn trailer tow connector ( and the # 3 fuse is for the right stop / turn trailer tow connector )
The way to plug in the harness depends on the type of harness that you have. Some are designed to unplug a connector then insert the harness inline with the wiring. Some require a special connector that clamps on the side of the wires, while others require wires to be cut and spliced together.
check the bulbs if that does not work,check your wiring harness.i had the same thing happen to me and it was my wiring harness

The Ford F2 50 trailer wiring fuse will be one of the auxiliary fuses in the fuse box. The auxiliary fuses will be the last four fuses in the second column.
For a 7-way trailer connector, the right turn signal wire is green. The left turn signal wire is yellow. The ground wire is white. The tail/marker wire is brown. The brake wire is blue. The batter wire is either red or black. The back up wire is purple.

What was included on my 1995 Explorer XLT with the trailer towing package was a " trailer tow jumper wiring harness" The part # is (F57B-13A576-A) It is 3 feet long with a flat connector on one end that has 4 wires white for male pin/green,yellow,black for female connections. The other end which plugs into the Explorer is round with 4 pins on one side (white,green,yellow, black wires) and 4 sockets. Ford refers to it as an 8 circuit connector.
