The ATF bolt is only for filling the fluid. The dipstick is there, it's just very hard to see. Follow the ATF bolt forward until you reach the edge of the transmission. Slide your hand down and you'll find it. You can see it if you look directly underneath the lower radiator hose where it bends UPWARD near the transmission.
If it is a Manual transmission you do not have a dipsticks.
Not sure if 1987 is the same, but my 1985 Honda Prelude has the dipstick located in front of the radiatior, down kind of low.
The transmission dipstick on a 1987 Honda Civic is located to the left of the oil dipstick. It is close to the left edge of the engine.
wheres the transmission dip stick located at
The Transmission dipstick for a 1999 Honda CRV is located under the hood of the car. It is just below the air intake, and usually has a yellow or red cap.
It's practically buried in the bottom front of the engine. It's virtually impossible to get to it w/o removing some intake hoses.
Same place you check the level.
there is no dip stick in a Honda passport 2001 closed system
I it is a manual transmission it has no dipstick. If it is A/T it is located on the front of the transmission near the engine block. It is very small and has no tube. Look carefully.
It is hard to find. Look where the engine bolts to the transmission.
there is not a dipstick on a manual transmission
On my 1984 CRX the dipstick is underneath the battery. I had to take the battery out to check it.
