The transmission on a 2002 Hyundai will have a drain bolt located underneath it. Loosen the bolt and drain the old fluid into a pan. Once done use Hyundai recommended transmission fluid and pour it in.
I bought the Chilton's manual that says you can replace the transmission filter on an 2002 Santa Fe. You cannot, the filter is located in the transmission and per my dealer does not need to be replaced. Good news, there is a transmission drain plug it's a bolt roughly 2-3 inches in size (you can't miss it) so you can drain that old fluid. Do not remove the transmission pan if you don't have to. It doesn't need to be removed to drain the fluid and is a pain to clean and reinstall. However, it is recommended to use Hyundai fluid. It costs $2 more per quart but more affordable than a new transmission. 2/
