I can't say for certain about an Acura, because I've never had one, but usually they are inside the transmission. You have to pull off the bottom plate, usually called the transmission oil pan. Be ready for it to dribble out all of your Transmission Fluid. The filter should then be easily accesible from there.

The 2002 Acura TL automatic transmission DOES NOT HAVE a filter! Regular maintenance - completely draining and replacing the automatic transmission fluid at prescribed intervals - is all that needs to be done. Make sure to do this!!! Because - and I repeat - the 2002 Acura TL automatic transmission DOES NOT HAVE a filter.
It Does have a filter, it is below the Air Filter housing, it's a small black Metal filter.
There is a plate that covers it or a good part of it.
Looks like a small motorcycle oil filter.

The transmission filter is located under the transmission on a 2002 Hyundai Sonata. it is under the transmission drain pan.

You need to remove the transmission pan to get to the transmission filter. You'll need to get a transmission filter kit which includes a pan gasket and filter.
If you remove the pan, you will see the filter up in the transmission.
It is inside the transmission pan on the bottom of the transmission.
The 2002 Acura RSX does not have a fuel filter
the transmission has to be spit apart in order to change the trans filter.
