Their is no such thing as a Transmission Fluid reservoir. All the fluid is in the transmission, the lines, and the cooler. You check the fluid with the dip stick, located near the fire wall, red handle, drivers side. Engine running-warm, in park or neutral. Check it several times to make sure of accurate reading.
The reservoir is inside the transmission. The fluid is stored in the pan underneath the transmission.
The pan on the bottom is where the fluid collects.
On a 1996 Mercury Mystique : The brake fluid reservoir is also the clutch fluid reservoir
I BELEAVE THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND CLUTCH FLUID RESERVOIR ARE ON IN THE SAME.
On a 1996 Mercury Sable : The automatic transaxle ( transmission ) fluid level dipstick is near the firewall and the brake fluid reservoir ( looking from the FRONT of the vehicle it is to the left of the reservoir )
On a ( 1996 ) Ford Escort the brake fluid reservoir is also the clutch fluid reservoir
Looking from the front the automatic transaxle fluid dipstick is just to the left of the engine coolant reservoir
If it is like the ( 1996 ) Ford Escort : The BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR is also the CLUTCH FLUID RESERVOIR
The 1996 Honda Accord transmission has a fluid capacity of 5.3 quarts. You can check the transmission fluid level with the transmission fluid dipstick.
jack it up, check the bottom of the tranny and find the bolt, unscrew it, drain, pour in new fluid from the top into the pipe(reservoir)
You can use any SAE certified manual transmission fluid in your 1996 Ford manual transmission. Make sure you use manual transmission fluid and not automatic transmission fluid.
The fluid is inside the transmission.
