In the switch itself...
Yes, if the batteries are connected in series, supplying 12 volts.
was jeep in accident and repaired? sounds like crossed or shorted wires
It is located inside the steering column. Half way down the column there should be two screws.Remove the cover and the flasher should be right there. 12 Volt 2 Terminal #LF 12
Yes you can replace a bike flasher with a car flasher . I priced the flasher from Honda dealer they want $80.00 plus tax for it I bought a standard car flasher for $4.79 plus tax and it worked. (flasher must be three prong - Prt.#550 12 volt 20-1036-2 from Can. Tire.) I answered my own question by trying it and it worked.
The turn signal flasher is located behind the tachometer, speedometer and other gauges that are mounted (air pressure gauge, battery volt guage, fuel guage, oil pressure guage, etc.) to that one large panel. On Peterbilt dashboards there are usually 5 to 6 screws and the panel and it can be removed with all the guages attached and there is enough wire harness room to pull it forward. Look into the wire harnesses and you will find a relay rectangular box labeled "electronic flasher". It is rust color and will also say "12 volt, 12 lamp". It is not mounted to anything, just laying there with 2 large 10 guage white wires to it. The relay flasher pulls out and is 2 prong. They usually cost anywhere from $10.00 to $25.00. Get the Grote 20 lamp, 12 volt for $20.00. It is high amps and blinks immediately and at a nice pace. It order to determine if this is your problem. Check the turn signal fuse/relay located in the fuse box next to the clutch pedal. Remove the access panel and it is marked. If the fuse is good Check the switch located on the steering column. Usually when flasher goes out the turn signal light will stay on without blinking.

The relay flasher ( if this is the one for your turn signals )is inside the steering column. At the bottom of/or part way down the steering column there should be two screws.Remove them and your relay should be inside. The flasher should be a 12 Volt 2 terminal #LF 12
5 volt supply, sensor ground and signal voltage.5 volt supply, sensor ground and signal voltage.
get a 12 volt test light from somewhere and check to see if you have power at your turn signal lights by removing lenses or bulbs( depending on application) and probe bulb holder for power. if you don't have any power at the bulb holder with the turn signal switch turned on for the side of car you are testing for power, you have either a break in your wiring or your turn signal switch is not making contact to complete the electrical circuit to send power to your turn signals. Before starting this procedure, take the time to read a service manual for your car in the electrical section, you will find many helpful tips on how to diagnose your problem by following their troubleshooting flow charts. ----JT---
Sometimes yes and sometimes no. If the bulb numbers match (such as a common 1157 turn/stop bulb), then they are completely interchangeable. If they don't match, they probably are not interchangeable, since automobiles typically use 12 volt batteries and at least some motorcycles use 6 volt batteries. Also, many bulbs use unique bases that will only allow them to be used in the correct socket.
It takes a 5 volt signal from the Quad module or PCM to turn the fan on. Check voltage going threw plug.
