The flasher relay (or turn signal relay) is located on a metal flange that is attached to the clutch pedal stop. Should be in the same area for automatics. It is accessible from underneath, requires no tool and slides off the metal tabs to your left as you are sitting in the driver's seat. To replace the flasher relay on a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder 4WD, unplug the old turn signal flasher and plug in the new one. It is a three prong plug located under the dash on the driver's side. The hazard flasher relay works the same way.
