I had a problem with my 2004 Impala. The flashers would freeze intermittently, both turn signal and hazards. Therefore I suspected a defective flasher unit. It seems that the hazard switch and flasher are a combined unit and reqiures some dissassembly of the dash to retreive the unit and replace it.AnswerI had to replace the turn signal flasher on my 2000 Impala it is the same unit as the 4 way flasher. The button for the 4 way on the dash is the flasher unit you have to pop off the front of the dash off to get to it there is about 8 screws 2 on the very ends under the fuse covers 2 on the panel under the steering wheel and 2 up by the speed odometer then you pop off the face off the dash be carefull not to brake off the clips Vaughn
