As far as I know , 2002 and newer 4 door Explorers don't have a transmission dipstick . Ford has a way of checking from under the vehicle = Helpfull
Where do I find the dipstick tube? Through the dipstick tube
Auto? -through the dipstick tube
Down tube that holds trans dipstick.
You wouldn't want to do that because starting with the 2002 model Ford Explorer ( four door ) there is no automatic transmission fluid dipstick / dipstick tube that would allow you to put in automatic transmission fluid at home
In the transmission dipstick tube , on the passenger side of the engine , near the firewall , with a funnel
Through the automatic transmission fluid dipstick tube , at the back of your engine , slightly to the left ( looking from the front of the Explorer ) by the firewall
Through the dipstick tube
I have a 1993 Ford Explorer. There is no fill plug for transmission fluid. I imagine that the 1994 Ford Explorer would be similar. To fill, use a funnel and pour the transmission fluid directly into the tube that holds the dipstick. Do not fill past the full line on the tank below.
In the engine compartment , near the firewall , on the passenger side of the engine / transmission
If it's an automatic transmission , in the transmission fluid dipstick tube located near the firewall to the passenger side of the engine ( using a funnel )
This does not answer your question , but starting with the 2002 model year of the Ford Explorer ( 4 door ) there is not an automatic transmission fluid level dipstick / tube that would allow you to put fluid in at home
Through the transmission dipstick tube using a small funnel . It is located by the firewall towards the passenger side of the engine
