In the book "Seedfolks" by Paul Fleischman, Wendell's symbol is a discarded refrigerator door that he uses as a canvas for his artwork. The refrigerator door represents his resourcefulness, creativity, and ability to turn something ordinary into something meaningful and beautiful. It also serves as a reminder of his past struggles and his determination to create beauty in the midst of adversity.
