It is totally hard to find a job because a lot of the time people want adults that can work full time and don't have school getting in the way all the time, but there are many ways to find a job check in your local papers for people advertising for help, also ask around your local town shops and newspapers distributors they always want people to deliver, and if none of that works ask your neighbours if they want cleaning done or babysitting you could try putting up a notice in shops or in your school that your looking for a job with your age and when your available they may just come to you! I hope this helps you good luck finding a job

Never too early to focus now Depending on where you live, there are many options that a teenager could try. In Canada we have programs for youth employment that encourages companies to hire student workers during the summer. The government subsidizes the student's wages during that season. Many of these summer jobs work out so well that the student is kept on during the school year on a part-time basis. Go to your municipality office/City hall employment assistance office, they offer a wide range of jobs also suited for part timers and teens on summer jobs/breaks.

However, (and I wish I was given this advice when I was a teenager): If you have specific interests or hobbies, or are gifted with specific talents that you would eventually like to develop into a career, go out and talk to people working with those skills. Use the yellow pages to find companies that might employ people with your talents and conduct informational interviews to learn more about the industry.

While working a retail or restaurant job will fill your pocket with money in the immediate term, a focused career search will benefit you greater in the long term. Researching your fields of interest early on will help you discern whether you even like these fields before you invest time (and several thousands of dollars) in schooling and training only to learn you didn't really like the work. I know far too many lawyers and engineers who regret the choice they made, and most of them returned to school for retraining in a field they enjoyed more.

For further reference, I recommend the book What Color is Your Parachute, by Richard Nelson Bolles. I have read several editions since 1988, and each new edition speaks to the current job hunting climate.

The most important thing is to keep positive.

There are a multitude of places to find weekend jobs. These range from websites that list jobs and have filters such as location, full-time/part-time and casual work as well as which industry you wish to work in, there are also agencies that are government funded who will help you find work by matching your current skill set with an applicable employment position.

Some natural summer jobs for teenagers are babysitting and lawn care. Older teens may find jobs working in fast food restaurants or helping in summer camps.
