I think you should keep your pet grasshopper in a jar or container with holes poked in the lid, dirt in the bottom of the cage, and grass and/or leaves for the grasshopper to eat. Make sure you spray the leaves with water in a spray container, so the grasshopper will have something to drink. When he sheds his skin, clean it out of the cage, and make sure you clean the cage once a week, at the least.
