When was the Forbert furniture company in business in the state of West Virginia?
Question: I have a pair of Forbert of Virginia leather top tables. I have tried for years to find something about them...and cannot. Answer: Not West Virginia Forbert Corporation was in business in McGagheysville Virginia during the 1940s and perhaps earlier. I am aware that they did make a leather topped table since my parents owned several. As I understand it my father was employed by that company when I was an infant as a manager of a division that made pre-fab housing which was then shipped by rail and then ship to England to help house people left homeless by the bombing during WWII. He left their employ by 1947. The company may have been owned by a man named Bruce Forward, but I am not certain about that. He lived near Harrisonburg when I met him in the 1960s but the factory was no longer operating then.
