You can buy Counterstrike Source on Steam for $19.99. You can also get the first Counterstrike ($9.99) and Condition Zero.
If you dont have Steam go to store.steampowered.com to download Steam.
When Steam is installed search for Counterstrike.
I think that this is the best way to get it but if you have not much download quota then you shouldn't do this since you have to download the whole game from the internet. Otherwise i dont know a good shop to buy it from :(
Steam.com is run by Valve, the very makers of Counter Strike. Here you can buy any of their games and many more. Any die-hard fan would recommend that you at least visit the site.

Counter-Strike maps are "bsp" files. When a server allows you to download them, you receive a "bsp.ztmp" file.

Sadly no, since the server technologies are separate entitys, Counter-Strike: Source can not connect to any other game, and any maps, mods, or servers from 1.5 or 1.6 cannot be used in Counter-Strike: Source.nope it cant
Automatically, you download a map from a server playing that map. Otherwise, you can download maps from FPSBanana (link below). Note: Counter-Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero maps work interchangeably.

No, you do not need counter-strike to play gmod. I don't even have counter strike but i do have gmod. A word of warning though, a lot of the materials and weapons in counter strike are used in garrysmod. Mostly in mods, and maps. It is recommended to have it.
I guess it's in C++ or C# Maps are made in Source SDK
no! counter strike 1.6 counter strike CZ counter strike Source
There is no Counter Strike 2.0, but i think Valves new game Counter Strike Source would count. New graphics, maps and stuff like that. It's run on the source engine. What you do is download a program called steam, find the steam store, find counter strike: source there, buy it and it will download. Then you can play :D
Download a map and add it to your "maps" folder within your "cstrike" directory.
