Anne and Margot were buried in one of the mass graves at Belsen by the Brilleslijper sisters, who had some nurse training and acted as nurses for their barracks. Some 45,000 people died in Belsen between February 15 and April 30, 1945. Today, it is not known for sure which of the mass graves Anne and Margot are buried in. Visitors to Belsen see a "grave" for Anne and Margot, but it is essentially a memorial.
