Jackie was a book editor for Doubleday in NYC for many years.
Jackie Kennedy became a book editor in 1958
From 1975 to 1977 she worked as a book editor at Viking Press. From 1978 to the 1990's she worked at Doubleday Publishing. Jackie started as a associate editor, in 1982 she was promoted to full editor, later she became a senior editor. Before she married (after college) JFK she had won a writing contest sponsored by Vogue. As a winner she received a yearlong position as a trainee. I'm not sure if she took it or not, one says she did one says she did not. Jackie was also a photographer for the Washington Times-Herald.
After John F. Kennedy was assassinated, Jackie and her children moved to New York City where Jackie was an editor for DoubleDay.
She worked for two publishers, Viking Press and Doubleday. She worked for Viking from 1975 until her resignation in 1978. She worked for Doubleday from 1978 until her death in 1994.
