The French and Indian War did not take place in France, although it was a part of the Seven Years War between England and France that did take place in France. The French and Indian War took place mainly in the Ohio River valley as far south as the Monongahela River in what is now West Virginia up to Canada. It went east to west roughly from the Allegheny Mountains to the Mississippi River at Cairo, Illinois also in the upper part of the region where the Ohio River joins the Mississippi.
