First, check that all the light bulbs are working and don't have broken filaments. The next problem area to check is where the wires plug in to the printed circuit on the tail light assembly. look for burnt, broken, or missing connectors on both the circuit and the plug.
1. a bad ground wire, or 2. a short in the brake electrical system let me know if it helps?
Stuck brake light switch, or a short to power somewhere in the brake light circuit.
Check the bulbs, check the fuse, check the brake light switch, in that order.
A short in the brake light circuit.
short circuits in the turn signal and brake light circuits
A bad switch, or a short in the wiring. This behavior in only one brake light would indicate the latter. Good luck
you may have your brake light socket and your back up light socket in the wrong holes. Or you have a short but that would probably leave you with a blown fuse and no lights.
Check to see if water is getting into the brake light sockets causing them to short to ground
A blown fuse is always a sign of excessive current flow. In this case, it's probably caused by a short circuit in the brake light wiring.
