Where would the oil plug be located on an 89 Nissan Maxima?
everyone should have a shop manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual(wiring diagrams and more detailed info) available in the reference section for FREE....make copies of the right sections, and fix it like a PRO!! good luck Dave :)
When replacing spark plugs on a Nissan Maxima 1995 remove the spark plug covers by twisting until they come loose. Use a socket and wrench to turn the spark plug to the left until it is released from the vehicle. Repeat for all spark plugs. Screw the new spark plugs into the vehicle and replace the spark plug covers.
On my 89 maxima, the drain plug is on rear left portion of the bottom of the radiator. Its a somewhat large plastic screw that you should be able to loosen with your fingers. Look for a small tube facing either backward or downward (possibly with flexible plastic tube attached) The drain plug should be very close to that. How do you fix or disengage the alarm in a 1987 Nissan Maxima that goes off spontaneously even though you've already removed one of the anti-theft relays?
The control box is located in the trunk area, were the rear speaker are located. Just left of center is the control box for the security system. Remove the multi-wire plug, this should disarm the alarm system. You don't have to remove the anti-theft relays under the hood, you only need to disconnect the anti-theft unit in the back as instructed above. This solution also works for a 1988 Nissan Maxima.
I no longer own my 1996 maxima but remember removing the plate on the manifold first. I believe it has a 3000 on it. There are 6 or 8 small Allen wrench bolts on the edges. Take that off and you should be able to see the plug cords. Be careful and pull at the plug not on the cord of the spark plug wire. You might separate the wire from the boot(the thick rubber…
Does the transmission have to be dropped in order to change the transmission fluid or put in a new strainer in a 1988 Nissan Maxima?
To change the transmission fluid, there is a large plug located in the front lower transmission housing, facing the radiator with a indented square hole. Use a 1/2 inch socket wrench and remove the plug to drain the fluid. About the screen, it is inside the top cover of the transmission. Generally does not need service.
