At spark plug location number 1. Number 1 plug is on the drivers side front of engine.
Double check, then triple check your firing order. Especially which distributor post is #1. Sounds like you're one off.
At cylinder 1, should be labeled on distributor cap.
Assuming you mean distributor cap and rotor, yes, if you mixed up the firing order.

The wiring order also called firing order is 18436572 some distributor caps show the #1 plug connector, which in most cases is the first post on the right side facing the back side of the carburater. start there and go clockwise with your wires in the 18436572 firing order.
Most likely bad plugs or firing order isn't right, i would start by checking the order you got the plugs and if that's not it check the plug wires.

are the plug wires in the correct sequence for firing order? Are the coil wires all connected? Did you remove the distributor and possibly put it out of time?
All V8 Chevrolet's are 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 with 1,3,5,7 on the left bank and 2,4,6,8 on the right with the distributor rotating clockwise.
The firing order on a 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood is 1, 2, 7, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8. The number one connection on the distributor is on the back right as you face the engine.
You MIGHT have a cracked distributor cap and the spark is jumping to the wrong plug along moisture trails.
