The Lord Chamberlain's Men, the acting company of which Shakespeare was a part, made the Curtain playhouse their home base between 1594 and 1599, between when the Theatre was closed and when the Globe was built.

There are no records of any particular play being performed at the Curtain, but it is likely that the plays of the mid-90s were played there. These plays include Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, The Merchant of Venice, Richard II and the two parts of Henry IV.
