In Star Trek: the Next Generation, the captain was Jean-Luc Picard, played by Patrick Stewart. The captain on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was Benjamin Sisko, played by Avery Brookes. In Star Trek: Voyager, the captain was Kathryn Janeway, played by Kate Mulgrew. In the final series entitled Star Trek Enterprise (which was also chronologically the first), the captain was Jonathan Archer, played by Scott Bakula.
